Unlike Mechanical Editing and Proofing, Developmental Editing is the art of reading through the narrative and finding a better way to say what you want to say. By going line by line, both visually and aurally (listening to how the sentence sounds), I can refine your manuscript so that it sounds BETTER and more CLEAR to the reader. In fiction, this service allows me to advise you on the most comprehensive and engaging way to describe your scenes, make your dialogue more natural, AND capture readers’ attention with dynamic prose. For Non-Fiction, I employ persuasive language techniques to enhance your manuscript for clarity, understanding, and engagement. Each 1-hour session is scheduled at your convenience and we meet via the Zoom app to sit down face to face or voice to voice to discuss the obstacles keeping you from reaching “The End” and getting your story out to your audience. -
